I really like and agree with your comments in Blog 7. Many people will post insulting comments on social media using virtual identities to attack and denigrate others for their own pleasure, but this is damaging to the victims. We need a good environment for social media, and you have already mentioned some important points of how to do in “How to better use social media to Build PLN – Influencers & Commentators”. But I don’t think this phenomenon will go away because people will always have their dark side.

Thank you for sharing your post! Compared with traditional learning method, the role of social media in an educational setting allows students to connect and communicate with people from different countries, enabling them to use their strengths and gather ideas and knowledge to enhance their learning.
I really agree with your point in ” What are some problems with social media communications in education settings?”. Social media also has certain pitfalls, and I think the biggest one is cyberbully. Cyberbully can be a threat to a person’s normal life or reputation, and in some cases it can cause death.

Online security and data privacy is really important to our personal safety. We could make the case to individual websites for greater protection of user privacy, however, doing so would greatly reduce the convenience of digital platforms. For example, how will we get online delivery if we don’t share our address? On the other hand, if we disclose too much information online, we will be more likely to be scammed. Social media helps us to stay social with people, but it also has potential implications for our security, it is important to learn how to create and manage our own PLN.

I couldn’t agree more with your comments about the impact of digital identities in a networked public. Many people will vent their emotions on the internet that they can’t say in really life, they like to show their “dark side” on the internet because they know that no matter how much they say, no one will know who they really are, this kind of person has an identity in reality, called “Keyboard Warrior”.
